Certificate of Appreciation to Team Rocket of Samsun University

The Governor of Samsun, Osman Kaymak, hosted Samsun University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Aydın and the Samsun Rocket Team established within the Samsun University Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, which won the “Best Team Spirit Award” in the “IREC” competition held in America. The Governor Kaymak stated that we are glad to see Samsun University’s first success in the international arena and added, “Going to the US from Turkey and getting the best team spirit award is a great honour. We hope that Turkey’s defence industry willreach a much better place with these scientific studies.Turkey has big goals such as 2023 and 2051. In this sense, our friends give us hope. I hope the friends who carry out these works will take part in big projects in the future”.

Stating that their goals are great, Rector of Samsun University Prof. Dr. Mahmut Aydın said, “We are trying to make Samsun have a say in the aviation and defence industry by integrating the young people here. In this way, we aim to contribute to both our city and our country”.

Assist. Prof.Melahat Cihan, who is a faculty member at Samsun University Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and is also an assistant to the Rector, stated that “We won the “Best Team Spirit” award among 102 teams in the “IREC” competition held in the United States. Our rocket is 3.30 meters long and can go up to 30 thousand feet. We made a successful launch with our team”.

At the end of the meeting, theGovernor of Samsun,Osman Kaymak presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the successful students.
